Night Vision IR Range

This IR turret IP security camera brings you extended infrared (EXIR) technology at a competitive price. In this cutting-edge design, the infrared emitter and camera lens are housed separately, unlike more traditional IR turret models. This allows for wider infrared coverage and an overall cleaner nighttime image. Best of all, this design eliminates a very common frustration: IR flooding.

Have you ever installed an IR turret or vandal dome security camera in a seemingly perfect location, only to find out later that you can barely see anything at night? When the lens and infrared LED lights are housed behind the same glass, often times excess IR light will reflect off of the window and back onto the camera lens, leading to a fuzzy, overly exposed image. By moving the IR light to the side of the camera lens, you don’t have to worry about this ever happening again.

But that’s not all! This camera offers fantastic specs day or night. With an HD 4MP resolution, dual video streams, IP67 weatherproof protection, and more, this camera will bring you excellent surveillance coverage anytime. Experience all that the NSC-2X4G-DM EXIR turret has to offer today.

This product is available in two lens models: choose between the wider 2.8mm lens and the narrower 4mm lens.

EXIR Design

EXIR Design

This camera features an extended infrared (EXIR) design, meaning the infrared LED is housed behind a separate window from the camera's lens. This superior infrared design allows for a much clearer night time image than some other turrets and domes with standard IR lights. With this EXIR turret, you won't experience any IR glare or flooding.

4MP Resolution

The NSC-2X4G-DM captures video up to a resolution of 4MP @ 30 FPS, which is 2560x1440 pixels. To put this in perspective, FHD (Full High Definition) is 2 megapixels, or 1920x1080 pixels. These cameras don’t have a high resolution, but they’re faster and more affordable. On the other end of the spectrum, 4K Ultra HD resolution is 8MP. These produce crazy high resolution video, but can be slower and much more expensive. So at 4MP, this camera is a pretty good blend of both. It has a higher resolution than FHD cameras without the cost of 4K UHD.

2.8mm Fixed Lens

The NSC-2X4G-DM has a 2.8mm Fixed Lens. That means it’s fixed at one length; it can't optically zoom in and out. The longer the focal length on a fixed lens camera, the more zoomed in it is and the more close-up detail you'll be able to see. But the shorter the focal length, the wider the field of view and the more area your surveillance will cover.

The NSC-2X4G-DM has a fixed length of 2.8mm, giving it a horizontal field of view of 98° FOV.

IP67 Weatherproof Rating

This camera has an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 67. This means the camera is completely protected from dust and other solid particles. It can also withstand being submerged in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.

Rest assured that when you install this camera outside, it will have no problem braving the toughest of storms.

98' Night Vision IR Range

When the sun goes down or the lights go out, this camera switches on its own onboard infrared LED lights. These lights, which are invisible to the human eye, allow the camera to continue functioning and recording video 24/7, day or night. And since its IR range covers up to 98 feet, you're not going to miss anything that happens on your camera's feeds, even if it happens in pitch-black darkness.

Remote Access

The NSC-2X4G-DM is a part of our H-Series line of products. As such, it's packed with features that would please a power user, yet it's simple enough to operate for a novice. Easily view and manage your cameras and recorders anywhere in the world with the free mobile and desktop applications. For the power user, these apps give you the power to adjust advanced settings on the fly. For the novice, you can use the apps to simply view live feeds and play back recorded video. Whatever you need to accomplish, it's all right there at your fingertips.

Plug & Play

If you're creating a new system out of our H-Series cameras, set up is insanely easy with our H-Series line of POE NVRs. Simply plug the camera into the back of the H-Series NVR and you have instant video on the recorder's HDMI interface. You can also view and manage the NVR through free desktop and mobile apps, such as Hik-Connect and iVMS-4200.

ONVIF Compatibility

If you want to add this camera to a security system already set up, that’s no problem. This camera complies with the protocols set by the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF). This means, as long as your current recorder is ONVIF compatible, you’ll be able to set this camera up with your current system.

  1. Great close in option!

I currently am using two of these at my house. One on the back patio and one on the walkout garage door. Super easy to setup. I use Blue Iris software on a computer to run it. Good day and night clarity on both cameras. Can be mounted on either a horizontal or vertical surface. Mine are hung from the soffits and using POE. There is adjustment to level the picture viewing however you like either left/right, up/down, or tilt. I find the EXIR to be better and brighter than the standard IR found circling around the lens. At night it has a very prominent single red light when looking at the camera. I don't currently need any more 2.8MM cameras but if I did I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again. I find they are only really clear to about 30 feet. Wide viewing is for close areas. My 4mm EXIR bullet is a much better yard camera and what you loose in viewing angle you gain in distance but both have their purpose. Thanks Nelly's

  2. Great Exterior Camera!

These are my go to cameras for all my installations! They are discreet and tough as nails with an all metal construction. The EXIR IR light has a great spread pattern to illuminate the area at night.

This camera is fantastic. It is well constructed and works very well. I have had it for about a year now, and it has stayed online the entire time. This is a solid camera and Nelly's has been nothing but great and helpful.

I have multiple pairs of these cameras mounted outdoors. They are solid and have plenty of adjustment capabilities to get the lens positioned correctly. I will be purchasing more!

  5. Awesome cameras
    Verified Purchase
I love these cameras the clarity on these things are amazing both day and night. I liked the domes but these have won my heart since the night vision is so much better and they seem to have a wider view.

To the cons the picture is amazing but on the edges of the pictures at a distance it blurs up and not as clear as say in the middle of the picture. unfortunately its a trade off i guess.
The plastic ring that goes around the camera to hiding the mounting points IS RIDICULOUSlY tough to get unlocked and locked as the plastic from being squeezed tends to lock it in even more. That is the biggest con and beef i have with this camera otherwise all worth the few minutes of unpleasant words that may slip out.

  6. Best quality 2.8 camera
    Verified Purchase
In terms of using a 2.8mm lens, I think this is probably the best quality you're going to see. It can't get great detail at the edges due to the limitations of using a wide angle lens, but so long as you're careful with placement, it gets plenty of detail across the middle of the view and the rest of the coverage will supplement your security up to about 90 degree field of view (you don't need a full quality portrait shot in every frame, you just need at least one plus good video of what actions that person is doing). The EXIR lighting is excellent at night, up to maybe 30 feet if you're setting this up under the eaves and pointing it at least partway down. While I like the 2MP version of this camera as well, the video quality of this one (as well as vertical coverage) is definitely superior.

  7. My go-to camera
    Verified Purchase
I have bought 4 of these now and have yet to have a problem. Picture quality is excellent, the EXIR is better than traditional IR, and a 2.8mm lens on a 4mp camera can really cut down on the number of required cameras to cover a large area. Overall my favorite camera.

  8. Great Camera
    Verified Purchase
I have 4 of these around my house. They have great resolution and are very easy to install. Never had a problem with any of them that I bought. Outside in Canadian winters, no problem, not even a hiccup. Went back and forth with Nellys with a few questions before I bought. The thing I like about Nelly's is the great support, US retail boxed, English firmware. I don't buy my cameras from anywhere else, i don't like surprises and Nelly's is the best!

How long is the pigtail wire coming out on the back of the camera....I'm trying to determine if there's enough length to run the wire through my exterior wall and into the interior of the garage.
The wire is about 7 inches before it split's for the power and the rj-45 connection.
