The HC121@TS8CR-Z is a license plate recognition camera, or an LPR. With its FullHD resolution and silky smooth 60fps video, this camera is designed from the ground up to take crystal-clear images of license plates. It can even record license plates at night with its 165 foot IR distance. With its intelligent letter and number recognition algorithm, this LPR automatically pulls all license plates into a database for quick and simple filtering, searching, reviewing, and exporting. In addition to license plates, the camera can also recognize and categorize vehicles into 10 body colors. Plus, with blacklist and whitelist functionality, you'll also know if someone's there who shouldn't be. When connected to a barrier, this camera also supports vehicle access control.

Toggle Digital Zoom

The camera has specific requirements that have to be met in order for it to work properly and i stretched those requirements to its limit. I have the camera covering about a 30' wide "choke point" and that's well past the limit of the camera. we are getting right around 75-80% of plate reads with it outside the requirements. I have full faith that if we could narrow it down, we would have no problems getting the rest. The snapshots that it didn't read the plate, we are able to go back in the footage and stop the playback and see the plate every time. great camera with a great function. will buy again when requested. Also thanks to NELLYS for making the set up videos easy to follow. make things so much better.

We have done a few projects with these LPR cameras and they are very good at what they do. If you locate it properly it will be successful at capturing a plate day or night. Our clients have been very pleased with the performance and ease of use. Make certain that you pair it with a UNV NVR that has the LPR features. These cams are fairly large and come with a junction box for mounting and securing your connections.

Will this camera work with my backstreet surveillance nvr? I checked and the nvr said it is ONVIF compliant, And how would I use the software for license plate recognition?? Considering backstreet has its own open network software. Lmk thanks
If the Backstreet Surveillance NVR supports ONVIF, then technically yes.
Just note the NVR will not be able to store plate captures itself. You would need to put a microSD card in the camera to store plates in it instead. Then to search plates, you'll have to log into the LPR's web interface via PC locally.
For best support, we advise going with an E2 or X series UNV NVR.
can you use a microsd card instead of a nvr to save the license plates information?
Yes, you can use a Microsd card to save plate information instead of an NVR.
