Q: Do the R series and H Series work together? A: For the most part, yes! There are some exceptions that we would like you to consider though:
For standard non-specialty cameras such as typical domes, bullets, and turrets, the cross compatibility between brands will work fine. If you currently have a H Series NVR with a few H Series cameras connected and you want to add a few R Series cameras to your NVR or vice-versa. No problem! Setting up the cameras will be a little different when crossing brands but ultimately it will work.
However, if you are buying a system for the first time, it is recommended that you stay with the same brand for the sole purpose of the setup being more simple. If you stick with the same brand camera and NVR, setup is usually plug-n-play. While you can mix brands, you have to take some extra configuration steps to make them work together.
Also, if you are buying a specialty camera such as a PTZ, Fisheye, LPR camera, etc, we recommend that your camera brand be the same brand as your recorder for full feature use and compatibility issues.
