Night Vision IR RangeA complete surveillance system involves more than tracking human movement. Many business and property owners also need to keep tabs on cars that enter and exit their premises. If you are looking for a security camera to capture and record license plate numbers, then pull those numbers into an intelligent database, then you are in luck.
The NSC-LPR-832-BT1 is a license plate recognition camera, or an LPR. With its FullHD resolution and silky smooth 60fps video, this camera is designed from the ground up to take crystal-clear images of license plates. It can even record license plates at night with its 165 foot IR distance. With its intelligent letter and number recognition algorithm, this LPR automatically pulls all license plates into a database for quick and simple filtering, searching, reviewing, and exporting. Get a better idea of who is on your property and when. Plus, with blacklist and whitelist functionality, you'll also know if someone's there who shouldn't be.
This professional-grade LPR is for anyone looking to take control over the flow of traffic in their parking lot or alleyway. It's compatible with all H-Series IP equipment. With its ONVIF compatibility, you can also add this to most systems that follow the ONVIF protocols. Keep reading to learn more about the specs of this incredible license plate recognition camera.

License Plate Recognition
This camera not only takes pictures of license plates. It's also able to recognize the numbers and letters, convert the string to text, and store the license plates in a database for quick and easy searching and browsing.

2MP HD Resolution
The NSC-LPR832-BT1 captures video up to a resolution of 2MP @ 60 FPS, which is 1920x1080 pixels. Every pixel added to your camera's picture gives you a higher image quality and more detail. So at 2MP, you're going to get a crisper, cleaner, and more detailed image.

8-32mm Motorized Varifocal Lens
The NSC-LPR832-BT1 has a Motorized Varifocal Lens, ranging from 35°-115°. This means you can easily and quickly adjust the zoom to your liking directly from the camera’s interface.
The Motorized Varifocal Lens gives you more control over your image. Optically zoom in to view finer details and a tighter shot. Or keep the camera zoomed out to enjoy the bigger picture with a wider angle field of view.

IP67 Weatherproof Rating
This camera has an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 67. This means the camera is completely protected from dust and other solid particles. It can also withstand being submerged in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Rest assured that when you install this camera outside, it will have no problem braving the toughest of storms.

Up to 165ft Night Vision IR Range
When the sun goes down or the lights go out, this camera switches on its own onboard infrared LED lights. These lights, which are invisible to the human eye, allow the camera to continue functioning and recording video 24/7, day or night. And since its IR range covers up to 165ft, you're not going to miss anything that happens on your camera's feeds, even if it happens in pitch-black darkness.

Remote Access
The NSC-LPR832-BT1 is a part of our H-Series line of products. As such, it's packed with features that would please a power user, yet it's simple enough to operate for a novice. You can also view and manage the NVR through free desktop and mobile apps, such as Hik-Connect and iVMS-4200.

ONVIF Compatibility
If you want to add this camera to a security system already set up, that’s no problem. This camera complies with the protocols set by the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF). This means, as long as your current recorder is ONVIF compatible, you’ll be able to set this camera up with your current system.

Verified PurchaseI had them up about a two weeks and caught our first dirt bag. There was a problem in the neighborhood. About three neighbors had a fuzzy picture of a dark truck but, nothing else. A neighbor called about a problem. She knew we had cameras. When I explained what I had and gave her the plate number with a picture she started crying. We turned it into the police. They were able to identify who it was and take care of it. Needless to say we will not have anymore problem from that person. The piece of mind is worth it.
I did ALOT of research. I found some that met my criteria but, it seemed to come back to Nelly Security and these cameras. I called Nelly and spoke to a salesman about a couple of questions. A week later I made the purchase. These Cameras rock! I had some trouble navigating the NVR a little. I called and Seth, he remoted into my computer and showed me everything. Certain things I needed to go over a couple times. He was patient. I took some notes. A couple of things everyone needs to know about License Plate Recognition cameras (LPR) As many tutorials said that LPR camera are VERY specific. I was able to capture plates about a hundred ft or so but, only about 60% of the time. I repositioned my focal point closer and ZOOMED in a little. This made a dramatic difference. About 90%+. It essentially made the plate bigger in the image. Making more of the plate visible in the viewing area. IE. making it much easier for the camera to see it. These cameras are fast. I have them set up at my mailbox. Up and down the street. The cars are hitting at least 40mph and these cameras are hitting it. From what I read, they only need about a 1/4 second or so.
Reason for purchase:
I bought them because of 60fps. This gives you a much smoother video capture. When you stop the recorded video it is clear.
The traffic box lines. This allows you to define the area that the car with pass through.
The Infra Red (IR). projects out FAR and pops the reflective plate. There are many that I can even see the month that the plate expires!
Cut light, this dims the headlight/taillights so not to blind the camera all the while it pushes the IR at the plate.
The LPR software is included in the NVR. It will take an eight sec video clip, a date time stamp, picture, and provide a display computer font display typed out of what it seen.
Things to consider, you must put a camera that monitors the same general area as the LPR so you can see what is going on. Example, at night when you are looking at the camera on the monitor it is a black screen as the cut light is on. Only when a car passes by can you see dim headlights and nothing else.

Verified PurchaseThis is my 4th camera purchase trying to get license plate reads at night. Wish I would have started with this and saved money. I thought 4K was more important than frame rate but was wrong. Given the 32X optical zoom, there is plenty of resolution. The main difference with this camera is how much customization you can do with the video parameters. With about an hour of tweaking, I am now getting reliable captures both day and night. I am running this with a Synology NAS and use Chrome with an IE plugin that you can download from Google. Couldn’t be happier.

Verified PurchaseNelly's team goes above and beyond to help get you setup. They impressed me when I called in with an obstacle during setup, and one of their team members talked me through it from memory. We got my LPR up and running with my Mac. A day later I reviewed night-time captures and needed to make some adjustments to the night mode. Nelly's blog about the camera and videos made that super easy. I drove my vehicle in front of the camera a few times, tested some adjustments, and within an hour I'm getting excellent night license plate captures. When I first bought the camera I wasn't sure it was going to work with my Mac. With some exceptional support, and a work-around I have all the features I'm looking for from this camera at a great price compared to other LPRs.
Tip: I don't own a PC. Just a Mac. And the web-plugin for safari isn't compatible with the latest version of Safari. That's actually not a problem. I didn't need to install the web-plugin or any alternate browsers. I installed Guarding Vision from Nelly's Downloads section, and used that to set the camera's IP address. After doing that I could access the camera from Safari. Between Safari and Guarding Vision I can access all the essential LPR features except Blacklist & Whitelist on my Mac. Nelly's support team talked me through the first part. Thanks guys! -
Verified PurchaseThis is a great all around camera that is giving my clients a peace of mind knowing that license plates are being captured coming on and off of their lot.
It captures plates really well and the installation was a breeze.
